April 28, 2007 Steve's Race Report

I had a good night over all. The car was good out of the trailer even after we repaired the crash damage from last week. My Dad put the car back together and it felt great. Thanks to him for all his time and effort. I didnt touch the chassis all night long. I was in the first heat race and started 5th. I got to the front rather fast and took the lead, I was able to hold off pressure from Mike to grab the win.

In the feature I again started 5th. When the green fell I wasted no time grabbing the lead within about a lap. I had a little breathing room til after the second of two cautions. On the restart Dan Roslin, in the 03 car, closed in and got outside of me. Once he got there I lost the groove in which my car was fastest. We ran side by side for upwards of ten green flag laps and I mean side by side....the fans were LOVING it! Dan was able to get by me on lap 23 and go on to his first win ever. Mike started 8th and was a tight 3rd. Many thanks to Dan for racing me clean. That was one of the best, if not the best race I was ever a part of. Congrats to Dan on your first win. They say everyone in the stands was going nuts! Don had a good run he started 12th and finished 7th. and Tom started 18th and finished 12th. And in a great way to close the evening, we realised nothing needed to be fixed on the cars this week!

Thanks to Dad, Pat, Eric, and Joe ... great job guys!!!! Sandi had her first race in the Bandalero although the points don't start to the next event. She did well and continues to be getting used to the car. Sandi got out there and didn't let her nerves get the best of her. She did a great job and will only get better. My nerves, however, got the best of me, but I was proud of Sandi and look forward to watching her improve on the track.
