Mike's 2006 Race Results

May 6	5th	3rd	Mike started on the pole of Heat #3. He kept the lead till he slipped a little in the turn and Steve snuck past for the win. Mike has to settle for 3rd. In the feature Mike started 5th right next to Steve. After losing 1 position, Mike dug in and vaulted to the front. By lap 4 he was running 3rd. In a few more laps Mike worked his way past Luke Marzano to claim the runner-up spot. Mike then followed Steve toward the checkers until Luke worked back around Mike moving him to 3rd at the checkers.
May 13	9th	16th	Involved in a turn 4 wreck that claimed 3 of the 4 team cars

May 27	7th	WIN	Mike won his heat race and was placed 7th on the grid for the feature. On lap 5 a huge wreck claimed half the field, but not Mike. He was placed 2nd on the restart, but Ron Poly pulled off the track handing Mike the lead. Mike never looked back and ran away from the field for his 1st win of 2006.
June 3			Rain Out
June 10	13th	12th	Mike was up to 6th when he was involved in a crash and had to start in the rear of the field.
June 17	14th	2nd	While racing in 9th, Mike avoided a big wreck and restarted in 4th. He made a few good moves, but ran out of laps to make a pass on the leader.
June 24			Rain Out
July 1	12th	8th	After starting mid field, Mike settled in for an uneventful race. The chassis was not handling well, but Mike still managed a top 10 finish.
July 7	7th	2nd	Mike finished 2nd in his heat race. He started 7th on feature and finished 2nd.
July 15	12th	2nd	Mike started his heat 7th and picked up a position every few laps to finish 4th. He started mid-pack and held his position in the early laps. Heads up driving kept Mike out of a crash and moved him into 6th position. Mike improved to 4th and held position till late in the race. Mike slid past Steve for the runner up spot in the closing laps for his 6th Top 5 effort.
July 29	7th	WIN	After finishing 3rd in his heat, Mike started 13th behind his brother Steve. Gradually moved through the field on lap 21 took the lead and won the feature to still hold the points lead.
August 5	12th	9th	Mike ran as high as 7th with a few laps remaining
August 12	11th	5th	After catching up to Steve, Mike drive in his tire track to the front and the checkers.
August 19	17th	6th	After taking the win in his heat, Mike was handicapped to 17th on the start. After working his way up to 8th, Mike got swept into a wreck and had to restart 17th on lap 10. By lap 15 Mike had sliced his way through the field and was running 6th. He maintained that position to the checkers.

September 16	5th	2nd	Mike's good fortunes continue as the current point leader padded his lead with a great run witnessed by the record crowd in attendance.
September 23	5th	4th	Mike timed well and started up front. He and Steve ran nose to tail almost the entire race. After the checkers fell, the team celebrated Mike's point championship!
September 30	5th	12th	Mike got swept into a crash on lap 8 and damaged the car. He tried to nurse it till the checkers, but was forced to retire early. At least the bad luck waited until the end of the season!

November 24	24th	8th
November 25	3rd	6th	Mike was running 2nd with 2 laps to go, when a competitor wanted his spot and shoved Mike out of the groove. Mike recovered and got back in line to finish 6th.
