Steve kicked off the 2006 season with a win in both the heat and the feature. In the heat, Steve started 3ed, but quickly moved to 2nd behind Mike. When Mikes slipped up the banking a little, Steve was there waiting for the opportunity. Steve took the lead on the final lap. In the feature, Steve started 6th, right beside Mike. Steve charged to the head of the pace as soon as the green was in the air. By lap 6 Steve took the lead and never looked back.

Steve's car felt awesome in practice and he set the fast time in practice before going out in the first of three heat races and starting in the 5th spot. In the heat the car felt great and Steve took the lead by lap 3 and never looked back. In the feature, Steve started right behind Mike. He followed Mike up through the field when Mike and the 64c car got together. Steve was able to slip by them, but the caution never came out. At this point Steve was running second to Mike Fulton in the 90 car. Fulton had over a straight away lead on Steve and he knew his work was cut out for him. Steve put the hammer down in the 88 machine and the set up Steve's dad, Norman, had provided him with was second to none that tonight. By lap 13 Steve rocketed by Fulton and took the 88 to victory lane for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. Brother Mike came back to finish 3rd.

Steve got caught up in a huge incident that claimed half the field. After visiting the pits, he was able to continue and raced up to 3rd. Then he was spun out by the #14 and his car would not restart.

Steve raced between 8th & 10th over most of the race before getting by the competition for 7th

Steve ran as high as third halfway through the event, but handling issues kept Steve from running consistent lap times.

Steve raced to 2nd in his heat which placed him 7th on the grid for the feature. Steve wasted little time getting to the front. He passed a car almost every lap and by lap 9 was the race leader. Steve lead till lap 21 when the setup started going away and Mike slipped by for 2nd.

Steve had worked his way up to 4th before falling back to 7th. Then a crash took him out of the event.

Steve progressed toward the front after getting booted back to 9th on the opening lap. He was up to 5th on lap 4 and hovered around that spot for the distance of the event.

Steve finished where he started in the heat race-5th. Steve started midpack and was running in 10th when he was involved in a wreck and restarted 20th. Steve slowly worked his way back to the middle of the field

Steve lead Mike for the first few laps, then Mike got by Steve and Steve just ran in his track for the remainder of the event.

Steve survived a wild race getting wrecked on lap 2 and missing a pile up on lap 8. After falling to 12th, Steve was back up to 5th on lap 20 and picked off 2 more before the checkers.

Steve lost a few spots in the opening laps of the event, but made a recovery and ran 6th during most of the race. Steve slipped on the final lap and lost one position

Steve recovered after handling problems sent the 88 sliding to the rear. Steve dodged a few spinners and finished with a top 10 to complete the season.
